The Yours Awards 2017 winners…
For the first year ever Yours Clothing have launched The Yours Awards.
Our goal of The Yours Awards 2017 is to provide recognition for plus-size industry advocates. Individuals who have gone the extra mile, worked super hard and who have notably made a difference over the past year. We have so much admiration for you and what you do for the industry, it definitely doesn’t go unnoticed.
The Curvy Queen – Style Envy Award – Callie Thorpe
Callie has flourished over the years, not only by becoming a huge influencer but by showcasing her style in a way like no other. She shows women around the world that you can wear what you want and look absolutely fabulous. From colourful coats to bright pleated skirts, there’s nothing Callie cannot wear. We envy her style every single day and that is why we are awarding her The Curvy Queen – Style Envy Award in The 2017 Yours Awards.
Body Positivity Activist – Michelle Elman
Michelle is the woman behind Scarred not Scared and what an absolutely incredible woman she is. Since Michelle showed her scars wearing a bikini and shared her story behind the scars she has been praised as a body confidence role model. We admire everything Michelle has done over the years and she not only inspires us, she inspires people all over the world and that is why we have awarded her Body Positivity Activist in The 2017 Yours Awards.
Plus-Size Personality of The Year – Hollie Burgess
Hollie is an absolute breath of fresh air, she has an aura about her which just makes you smile. Hollie expresses herself through her own individual blog Pretty Big Butterflies and through the forms of social media. She takes you on a journey with her through her life from the start of her blogging career all the way to the birth of her little baby boy. For all these reasons and many more we have awarded her Plus-Size Personality of The Year in The 2017 Yours Awards.
International Curvy Queen – Style Envy Award – Lalaa Misaki
Lalaa has been giving us style envy ever since we first started working with her. Her style is so unique and creative, each image she takes sets a new standard. Lalaa challenges the stigma surrounding plus-size fashion and looks absolutely incredible doing it. She’s eccentric and individual and that’s why we have awarded her International Curvy Queen – Style Envy Award in The 2017 Yours Awards.
French Plus-Size Blogger of The Year – Stephanie Zwicky
Stephanie is a plus-size blogger and entrepreneur. Stephanie blogs about all things fashion and lifestyle on her own individual blog. Stephanie produces content on another level and always gets such a positive reaction from her audience. She’s a motivation to many with her positive outlook on life and that is why we have awarded her French Plus-Size Blogger of The Year in The 2017 Yours Awards.
The Most Influential Voice of The Plus-Size Industry – Grace F Victory
Grace started her YouTube channel in 2001 and has since grown year on year to what she is today. She is a strong advocate in the plus size industry not only through her own blog, she also has her own BBC documentaries and has written her book #NoFilter in which she tackles so many issues which everyone needs to be aware of. Grace also contributes to discussions on body positivity and inspires people all over the world to love who they are! Grace oozes passion for the plus size industry which is why we have awarded her The Most Influential Voice of The Plus-Size Industry in The 2017 Yours Awards.
Rising Star of The Plus-size Industry – Chloe Pierre
Chloe started her own blog in 2009 and has just evolved since then! Chloe has such a strong passion for the plus size industry often appearing in campaigns and at events contributing to body positivity. Chloe is always proactively looking for ways to be ahead of the game and this is why we have awarded her Rising Star of The Plus-Size Industry in The 2017 Yours Awards.
The Yours Clothing Voice Award – Laura Ferry
Laura has been an official Yours Clothing ambassador for a year after winning the #BeTheBlogger competition in early 2017. Laura always goes above and beyond for our brand, creating excellent content through video and still imagery. We have watched Laura grow over the years and she has supported Yours Clothing every step of the way. Laura is a beautiful woman inside and out, which is why we have awarded her The Yours Clothing Voice Award in The 2017 Yours Awards.
Outstanding Achievement in The Plus-Size Industry – Georgina Grogan
Georgina has been an incredible advocate to the plus size industry over the years with her own blog and also creating the first UK body positive only magazine and community – She Might Be Magazine. She Might Be launched in 2016 and has posted new content every single day ever since! She Might Be Loved has appeared in numerous publications and outlets including Huffingtonpost, Cosmopolitan, LOOK Magazine, Metro, Good Housekeeping plus so many more! This is why we have awarded Georgina Outstanding Achievement in the Plus-Size Industry in The 2017 Yours Awards.
Most Aspirational Instagram – Mermaid Gossip
Emily’s Instagram has everything from amazing colours to incredible buildings and architecture. Her creativity, the way she portrays herself and everything around her through this platform is absolutely astounding. Not alone does Emily express herself through the forms of social media, she was also featured in Channel 4’s Shed of The Year featuring her incredible mermaid-esque creation! This is why we have awarded her Most Aspirational Instagram in The 2017 Yours Awards.
German Plus-Size Blogger of The Year – Ela Conquore
Ela started her blog Conquore in 2012, since then she has been blogging about all things fashion, beauty and lifestyle. Ela started her blog to show curvy women that they can go further than they ever imagined. Ela wears what SHE wants and looks incredible doing it too. This is why we have awarded her German Plus-Size Blogger of The Year in The 2017 Yours Awards.
Dutch Plus-Size Blogger of The Year – The Bigger Blog
Josine is the founder of The Bigger Blog. Josine inspires all girls to love themselves just the way they are! Josine creates incredible content through both video and still imagery giving us fashion envy all year round. Josine also makes a conscious effort to attend plus-size events outside of her home country. This is why we have awarded The Bigger Blogger Dutch Plus Size Blogger of The Year in The 2017 Yours Awards.
Polish Plus-Size Blogger of The Year – Ewa Zakrzewska
Ewa has taken the blogging world by storm. Not only does she create incredible content for her blog from fashion to beauty to health. Ewa is also a plus size judge on #supermodelka – Curvy Supermodel TV show, Polish edition. Ewa is not only an inspiration to girls on the show, she is also a huge inspiration within the Polish plus-size industry. This is why we have awarded her Polish Plus-Size Blogger of The Year in The 2017 Yours Awards.
American Plus-Size Blogger of The Year – Fat Girl Flow
Corissa began her blogging journey on Tumblr in 2012, this then evolved and in which Fat Girl Flow was created in 2015. From the very beginning we have been on a journey with Corissa through ups and downs but she has inspired us the whole way. Fat Girl Flow has been featured on media outlets around the world and has achieved SO much in such a short space of time. For these reasons and so many more we have awarded Fat Girl Flow American Plus-Size Blogger of The Year in The 2017 Yours Awards.
American Plus-Size Influencer of The Year – Alexa Phelece
Alexa is an incredible influencer in many ways, not only is she a successful blogger. She is also the founder and creator of Every BODY Deserves Love. Every BODY deserves love is an organizational movement that finds innovative ways to encourage men, women, and children to understand they are worthy of loving themselves. Alexa has changed so many people’s lives for the better and that is why we have awarded her American Plus-Size Influencer of The Year in The 2017 Yours Awards.
The Queen of YouTube – Glitter and Lazers
Anna is a fearless fashion obsessed individual who expresses her wonderful personality through the forms of social media. Anna is an avid YouTuber, creating individual content from fashion hauls to look books. She pushes the boundaries within the plus size industry and we admire her immensely for that. Her personality shines through both her images and videos and that is why we have awarded her The Queen of YouTube in The 2017 Yours Awards.
Plus-size event of the year – The Curve Fashion Festival
The Curve Fashion Festival is the UK’S largest plus size fashion event. When the event debuted in 2015 it saw over 1100 women from all over the UK attend. The Curve Fashion Festival brings together some of the biggest names within the plus size industry and we are honoured to be a part of the event. The Curve Fashion Festival provides new and upcoming bloggers and influencers with a platform to network with other individuals. For these reasons this is why we have awarded The Curve Fashion Festival Plus-size Event of The Year in The 2017 Yours Awards.
Dedication to the plus-size industry – SLiNK
SLiNK magazine is a fashion and lifestyle magazine aimed at plus size women. SLiNK includes so much content from inspiring interviews to fantastic lifestyle reviews. We admire what SLiNK is about and how it inspires you and makes you feel great! This why we have awarded SLiNK the Dedication to the plus-size industry award in The 2017 Yours Awards.
Celebrity body positive activist of the year award – Louise Pentland
Louise is a blogger, vlogger, internet personality AND author! Louise is known worldwide for her YouTube channel Sprinkle Of Glitter, with over 2.5 million subscribers she has become almost a life coach for many individuals around the world. Louise is also a champion for Gender Equality and female empowerment and for these reasons we have awarded her Celebrity Body Positive Activist of the Year Award in The 2017 Yours Awards.
Champion of self-love and self-truth – Shay Neary
Shay Neary, where do we start? Since working with Shay on our transgender transitioning guide (https://www.yoursclothing.co.uk/shay-neary-style-advice) we have grown to learn and love what a beautiful person she is inside and out. If you’re ever in doubt of a reason to love yourself – hit up Miss Neary’s Instagram and she’ll be sure to help you out! Shay is a walking, talking self-love campaign and we admire her down to earth approach of being and staying true to who you are as a person and embracing your individuality.
The voice of YC social media – Donna Griffiths
If you think that the thousands of Facebook comments we receive every day go unnoticed… think again! We read through all of your comments, good or bad and we love the social community that we have. Without our social media fans we wouldn’t have the deep insight into what you guys are loving or sometimes hating! We feel that we get to know each and every one of you through our social channels. With this said, there are a handful of YC advocates that comment or engage with almost every one of our posts on a daily, if not hourly basis! These are the true to heart YC fans and we appreciate your feedback and comments. It’s not every day you come across a journalist who has given so much time and voice to the plus-size industry. Evette is a true ambassador for body-positivity, equality and feminism – all of which are very close to our hearts. Evette oozes passion for body-positivity and this shines through in her writing. Even though Evette is overseas in America- we’ve sure heard her from the UK! If you’re looking for a real-talking, strong and passionate industry voice – Evette is your lady! Keep doing what you are Evette and you’ll change the world one day, each small step at a time…
The Yours Clothing Smile Award – Alison Hammond
With her beautifully bold personality and a smile that goes from ear to ear, it’s no wonder Alison Hammond is the nation’s favourite TV presenter. There’s not a day that goes by where Alison doesn’t make us smile. Whatever the challenge, she will always accept if it means making others laugh. Alison is a huge advocate of YC and we love seeing her curves (and her smile) in our clothing. Her laugh is infectious and she holds such a positive presence to everybody around her, that’s why we have awarded her The Yours Clothing Smile Award 2017.
