It’s time to get planning a much needed staycation! With the re-opening of campsites, hotels, and holiday homes, it’s time to start exploring the countryside, beaches and local areas that surround us. It may not be the tropical destination we have all been dreaming of and our weather might be a little unpredictable, but that’s why we’ve put together a little guide on how to dress on staycation – wherever you are!
Countryside Retreat
There’s nothing like a bit of fresh air to re-energise and rejuvenate, especially after the past few months being spent in lockdown. Whether it’s a walk to watch the sunrise/set or walking to a local country pub for an afternoon drink, it’s time to get out and explore the countryside.
What To Wear: Going for a stroll? Grab your trainers and a pair of stretchy cycling shorts for guaranteed comfort and easy movement. Feeling a breeze? Layer up with a denim jacket and take your style up a notch. Don’t forget to pack rain jackets and wellies in preparation for the unpredictable weather too!
Hitting The Beach
Whether you’re looking to relax and get your tan on or go on a breezy coastal walk, there’s nothing that gets you more in the holiday mood quite like warm weather, sand and sea.
What To Wear: Looking to sunbathe by the sea? Get your tan on and opt for comfy, shape flattering swimwear. Plus, we are loving crochet cover-ups at the moment, so why not try one out when the sun goes in. Don’t forget chunky accessories and statement shades for added style points!
Go Camping
Dreaming of toasting marshmallows around a camp fire? Us too. With campsites set to open, it’s time to dust off your tent and head on an adventure.
What To Wear: Be prepared for an assortment of weather forecasts. We’re talking warm weather in the day, spells of random rain and pretty chilly temperatures come the evening. The essentials are definitely comfy plus size clothing you can layer up. We’re talking joggers, t-shirts and hoodies.
BBQs & Picnics
This is literally everyone’s favourite activity at the moment. If you’re not looking on heading far for a staycation, why not hold a local BBQ or picnic with close friends or family. Just pack up a basket of goodies, a bottle of something fizzy and you’re good to go!
What To Wear: It’s time to pull out all your favourite summer dresses. We are talking ditsy floral maxi styles and tropical print midis. Wanting to dress down? Just team with a pair of canvas trainers or take it up a gear with a pair of block heels.
