Everyone knows how important it is to accessorize your wardrobe. It’s probably the easiest way to update your wardrobe to make it look fresh without actually having to buy an entire new wardrobe. What a difference a statement necklace, or a killer pair of shoes can make. Last Friday we were shooting for spring accessories so I thought a behind the scenes shoot is essential for you guys to understand exactly what’s on offer this season!
Continuing the pastels theme from the store windows shoot we set to work on shooting the best of a beautiful bunch of shoes, bags and jewellery. The music was blaring, the sun was shining outside, and the Yours crew were all off into town Friday night to say farewell to one of our lovely graphics girls. Feeling inspired and possibly spurred on by the excitement of the night ahead we seemed to come up with concepts fast.
Accessories
Jewellery
Shooting jewellery flat is usually one of the most challenging products to shoot, as getting the chains to look perfect isn’t as simple as it sounds. We decided to continue the massive daisy trend into our shoot by using large flowers as props. Our jewellery range consists of some pretty pastel pieces, strong Aztec statement necklaces/earrings and cute flowery products. Below are just a few of our favourites.
Bags
This year our bags speak for themselves, with bold bright handbags and soft pastel clutches. If you want your outfit to pop with colour but aren’t daring enough to wear bold colours in you clothing why not brighten up with one of our loud bags this season. With what seems like all the colours of the rainbow you have so many options. My favourite is the yellow which would look great teamed with a pair of printed black and white harem pants and a plain black top, brightening up a monochrome outfit. What’s your favourite?
Belts
Even our belts are looking hot with floral prints, latest western styles, and bold colours all ticked off in our range. Belts are a must have essential item for every girls wardrobe, and you never know when you’re going to need one so why shouldn’t it be on trend and fashion forward!! Personally I love the floral print belt below; it’s cute and ideal for the pretty pastels trend that’s very hot right now.
Scarves
Scarves are the perfect item to throw on as you walk out the door and complete your outfit. We’ve got every kind you could dream of from animal print to floral, daisy to Aztec, pastel to neutral; you name it we got it!
Shoes
For shoes we always struggle to set them up in new interesting ways, there is only so much you can do with a shoe on a plain background in a studio. And with the weather so unpredictable it’s hard to go out on location. So the head photographer Laura and I (stylist) set to work on doing our stunning range the justice it deserves.
Pumps, sandals and trainers
Starting with your everyday pumps and sandals we had peep toes, basket weaves, bold colours, gladiators and even diamanté in this line-up. Less is more when it comes to some many different styles and options so we stuck to a simple setup. And moved on swiftly to our very new this season canvas shoes!
We sat there and thought about what we could do for this particular style, wanting them to stand out and suddenly came up with the idea of tying them together and hanging them. This was inspired by the way that sometimes you see shoes tied together and thrown up onto a tree or telephone line. Sometimes this can look quite picturesque, so we’ve recreated this in our little studio! Becoming more and more popular on the high street this are certainly a must have for everyone this season, and I can certainly vouch for how comfy these are! And not only that they look awesome with denim, at only £16.00 and ranging right up to a size 10, these are a bargain!!
Heels and wedges
Our heels and wedges range has grown this season with interesting new additions. We have imitation cork wedges, floral prints, cut out patterns, and Aztec killer heels for a powerful trend statement. With so many options for so many occasions I just don’t know how you are going to choose. I got most excited about the chunky Aztec print heels, these are very new for us, and fit in perfectly with all the Aztec jewellery I was talking about earlier. They would be great for dressing up a casual outfit, and for only £25.00 I reckon you could afford another pair.
Ankle Boots
Ankle boots are primarily an autumn winter shoe, but they are always in fashion, for that cool festival style outfit worn with a pair of socks and denim shorts/skirt! Don’t dismiss these beauties just yet!
Mother’s day gifts
With mother’s day around the corner don’t forget to get your mum something nice! I don’t know about you but I don’t know where I’d be without my mum, she’s my rock, so it’s time to show her how amazing she is! Accessories such as scarves and bags are perfect so here’s a few ideas to get you started!!
