Megan’s Blogger Swimwear Shoot at Yours Clothing HQ

12/05/2014

back to blog

Hello to all you lovely Yours Clothing Ladies! My name is Meg and I write the plus-size fashion blog ‘The Closet of Megan Faye.’ Anyone who reads my blog will know how much I adore Yours Clothing, so when they got in touch and asked me if I wanted to take part in a blogger swimwear photo shoot featuring their SS14 range, how could I have said no?!

After a bit of a nightmare journey from Liverpool, I arrived at Yours HQ in Peterborough bright and early one morning last week. I was greeted by Jacqs and Becky who writes ‘The Ramblings of Mrs Bebe.’ We joined Jane and Elaine who are the swimwear and lingerie buyers for a spot of breakfast, and were lucky enough to be shown the look-book for the SS15 range. It was great to see so much variation between prints and styles, and the use of colour has got me incredibly excited for next year! It was amazing to see that us plus-size ladies are really being listened to.

After this, Becky and I were taken to hair & make-up and the photo shoot prep began! With our pout-perfect lips prepped and our lashes reaching new incredible lengths, we were camera ready. I was first up, and after putting my first swimsuit and heels on, I made my way to in front of the camera. I then put my heels through the backdrop TWICE ripping it and spilled my ‘mocktail’ prop. I think it was evident to the team that I was nervous, ha! However, after those mishaps I calmed down a little and really started to enjoy myself.

Becky was next to take her photographs and I was in absolute awe of how gorgeous she is. She completely rocked it!

We broke for lunch, then got straight back into taking more photos. Becky finished taking her solo shots and we had the chance to have some taken together. This was my favourite part of the day!

When all of the pictures were taken, we had a chance to go through and pick our favourites. I felt really overwhelmed, as they were all so fantastic. I’ve really struggled with my self confidence and body image for years, and seeing myself looking so great in swimwear resulted in me shedding a few tears, oops! I want to say a massive thank you to Becky and the team at Yours Clothing for giving me such a boost! I’ve not stopped smiling since I got home :)
