How To Make The Most Of Your Weekend At Home

03/04/2020

back to blog

Right now, the days often feel like they’re rolling into one and for many, those Sunday night blues are a thing of the past. However, the return of Friday evening still means one thing: it’s the weekend! Whilst we might not normally choose to spend our entire weekend at home, things are a little different right now, so it’s important to try and separate this precious time from your regular week. With or without plans, a weekend is still a weekend, so we’ve rounded up our favourite ways you can make the most out of yours.

Take To Your Hobbies@@

Remember that book you started reading before Christmas, but never got round to finishing it? Or that new Jamie Oliver recipe you’ve been meaning to try? Hobbies are proven to make us happy, so make the most of your weekend by reigniting your passions and doing activities that make you feel good. If indoor hobbies were never really your thing, now is the perfect time to find a new one! Whether that’s learning a language, writing a novel or taking up knitting – focusing on things you enjoy is a great way to spend your weekend and will do wonders for your mental wellbeing.

Exercise

Keep busy this Saturday by getting active and doing a spot of exercise. You might want to use your one hour outside of your home to go for a jog or a power walk to clear your head and boost your mood. If venturing outdoors isn’t for you, there’s plenty of home workouts that you can follow on YouTube, whether it’s an intense full-body workout session or something more relaxing like yoga or pilates.

Spend Time With Your Loved Ones

If you’ve been working from home during the week, you might want to use the weekend to spend some quality time with those closest to you. If you’re self-isolating with your family, why not bring out your favourite board game or do an activity together? Keep in touch and stay connected to those outside of your household too – FaceTime@with friends or catch up with your neighbours over the phone.

Have A Netflix Binge

With more free time on our hands than ever before, we might feel the pressure to fill our weekend with tasks or jobs to keep us busy. However, it’s important to leave a little downtime for yourself to chill out and relax. Grab your favourite snacks, get comfy on the sofa and start a new series or watch a feel-good film.

Get Out In The Garden

Easter is approaching which means warm weather must be on its way, so why not spend this weekend enjoying the sunshine in your garden? Whether you want to potter around in the garden or just kick back and relax, spending time outdoors is a great way to boost your mood. If you’re looking to refresh your wardrobe in time for warmer days, we’ve got all the styles you need!

Enjoy Those Cancelled Plans

It might be your best friend’s birthday this Saturday, or maybe Friday evenings have always been date night for as long as you can remember. But just because you can’t go outside, who says you have to cancel these plans? Take this weekend as an opportunity to get dressed up, put on some makeup and@enjoy the things you had planned, just in a different way! Cook a nice meal with your partner or grab a takeaway at home, or round up all your friends for virtual cocktails over FaceTime to celebrate special occasions – it’s all about the improvisation.

How are you making the most of your weekend? We want to keep in touch, so why not head over to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter and let us know what you’re up to using the hashtag #ThisIsYours@– we can’t wait to hear from you.
