Hi Ladies,

It’s the Yours Clothing stylist again.

So the Festival season is officially upon us, kicking off with Coachella over in California with the second weekend currently underway! This means that summer is almost here and it’ll soon be time to get those Shorts and flip flops on. I am a huge fan of festivals, I love the atmosphere, the music, the fashion, the cool clothing stands, the camping; everything about them is fun!! I have to admit any fashion lover will be satisfied at a festival, where even just people watching is great for style inspiration. With so many festivals to choose from, Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, Wireless, Latitude, Lovebox, T in the Park… just to name a few, we need a good wardrobe to make sure we’re looking our best for these events. Most cities even have their own small festivals now, which are great fun and usually very cheap on entry, so everyone can get involved!

The perfect festival camping wardrobe starts with a good bag that can hold a lot but is easy to carry around. I have seen so many people lugging suitcases across fields, through wet mud or hot sunshine… it’s just not practical. Once you have this you can starting planning your outfits.

Cover all bases… You never know what the weather will be like so always take a mixture of clothing, including a waterproof mac- they are lightweight and will fit in an over the shoulder bag to take into the festival with you.

Outfit 1- Take a cool pair of denim shorts (or crops if you feel more comfortable or get cold easily), and wear with an on trend neon vest like the one below. For a lightweight cover up from the wind and sun, or if you don’t like to show off those shoulders grab this cute blue floral kimono to complete the look. Add a pair of gladiators if it’s not too muddy and a long necklace for a boho festival look.

Outfit 2- Take a cute swing dress that you can wear with a cool pair of boots. This blue palm tree print dress is perfect and is made from a comfy jersey fabric, team this with our black ankle boots and a pair of chunky socks, ensure you take a secure over the shoulder bag with your phone and money in (just in case you lose your friends). Tip- Boots are perfect to keep your toes safe in a large crowd and feet warm and dry when it’s muddy; A must at a festival. Also put in a pair of black leggings or tights just in case it’s not warm enough for bare legs.

Outfit 3- These skinny jeans are essential as you can never trust UK weather, if its windy these will be essential for keeping your legs warm. Team this with a fashion tee like this Aztec print tee and layer with that trusty waterproof mac. This can be worn with either your gladiators or your boots, only take the two pairs as shoes are bulky and heavy.

Stylist Tip 1- If you are camping at a festival this year take warm clothes for the nights, even camping in the summer In the UK is cold a woolly hat won’t go a miss. Make sure you take those hoodies with you such as our grey marl zip hoodie.

Stylist tips 2- DON’T forget those sunnies!!

Have fun girls!
